MAKO 2201 INSHORE BAY BOAT

My primary vessel is a 2009 Mako 2201 Inshore Bay Boat. This vessel is one of the best inshore fishing boats on the water. It is a perfect platform for fishing in shallow water with very large integrated bow and stern casting decks. The stern casting deck on the starboard and port sides converts to two folding jump seats for angler comfort while underway. The V-hull design produces a very smooth ride even in rough water. There are multiple rod and storage lockers in addition to under-gunwale and vertical rod racks. This boat is free from obstructions minimizing line snags and tripping hazards.

This vessel is powered by a 150hp Four-Stroke Yamaha. This engine is super quiet and gets the Mako out of the hole immediately, and provides a very fast ride- yet idles smoothly for quietly entering shallow water. The boat is equipped with a Minn Kota Riptide Terrova 112 lb thrust bow mounted trolling motor equipped with "iPilot" and "Spot Lock" and operated via remote control. I steer the boat while standing atop the center seat affording a superb view of fish moving in the shallows and boulder fields while having the main engine completely out of the water.

The Mako is equipped with Garmin's GPSMap 741sx chartplotter/sounder with DownVu and SideVu Sonar Scanning with BlueChart G2 Vision software and a backup handheld Garmin chartplotter. The VHF radio is the Standard Horizon Explorer GX1700 DSC class D. I also have on-board a backup handheld, waterproof, battery operated Cobra VHF radio and a waterproof cell phone.

LUND 16 SSV

My secondary vessel for use in ultra-thin saltwater and for waters with low bridge clearances and where stealth is paramount and where freshwater lakes have horsepower restrictions, is the Lund 16 SSV. This straightforward tiller controlled V hull fishing boat is constructed of bullet-proof aluminum. Flat flooring and a rear casting deck provide comfort and stability. This boat is powered by a Yamaha 25 hp four-stroke electric start engine. It is equipped with a 55 lb thrust Minn Kota trolling motor. The Chartplotter is Garmin's EchoMap 53DV with a backup handheld GPS, and the VHF radio is a Cobra handheld.

Top of the line Sage, Offshore Angler, Edge and Orvis flyrods. Fly reels and spare spools are the Sage 6010 and 4210 Series, Cheeky Limitless and Boost, Orvis Mirage, Offshore Angler Gold Cup and White River Kingfisher series.

Fly lines are Rio Products Outbound and Outbound Short in Floating, Intermediate Sinking tip and Fast Sinking tip, Orvis Shooting heads, RIO Products leaders and tippets.
